Dr Anup kumar Thakur, Director IPGT&RA Jamnagar. Completed his BAMS from Gujarat Ayurveda University Jamnagar and pursued his MD in Panchakarma ,Kayachikitsa, Rasayana and Vajeekarana. He is the chairman of Departmental Research Committee Panchakarma and Ex-Programme Director of International centre for Ayurvedic study,Gujarat University,Jamnagar.He has research and teaching experience for over 20 years.His major projects include WHO-APW project on ‘Preparation of a manual on simple Ayurvedic herbal formulations for common ailments’ and ‘Identification of genomics correlates of Prakriti in healthy individuals in West Indian population of Gujarat’ project in Collaboration with CSIR-IGIB,.Currently he is working on the WHO –TOR 4 Development of a base paper for regional consultation on enhancing communication between traditional medicine practitioners & modern medical practitioners. He procured WHO Fellowship on “Information, Education and Communication (IEC) in public health” at Ministry of public health, Noonthaburi, Thailand. He Published more than 90 papers in various National & International Journals & Proceedings.He serves as an editorial & advisory board member of famous journals like AYU, JAHM,IJAPR and reviewer of JRAS,JERIM,JAIM. He represented Ayurveda and other traditional systems of medicines of India on behalf of Department of AYUSH in WHO working Group meeting organized at Hong Kong for inclusion of Traditional system of Medicine in ICD -11 version
